Our special exhibition »Treasures of the Soil – Stories from the Subsurface« takes you on a field trip into the earth. From April 28, 2012 until November 4, 2012, this big join-in event for the entire family will introduce visitors to the fascinating world beneath our feet.

UNDERCOVER ― Soil, an Entire Cosmos beneath Our Feet

Sander, Lower Saxony’s minister for the environment, opened the new theme walk at the museum park. Without soil, Kalkriese probably wouldn’t exist. Now the ground grants us an in-depth look into it. The new round tour about the topic »soil« adds another attraction to Museum und Park Kalkriese’s information and adventure program.

Winter Opening Hours

Winter opening hours apply from November 1st 2011 until March 31st 2012 h: the museum is closed on Mondays, open 10.00am to 5pm on Tuesdays through Sundays. Public guided tours are on offer Saturdays  at 2.30pm, Sundays and public holidays at 11.00am and 2.30pm.
