On May 15, Museum und Park Kalkriese Will Present Two New Exhibitions
Bramsche-Kalkriese, April 24, 2009
2,000 years after the Varus Battle, Museum und Park Kalkriese offers new insights into the historical battle and its consequences, presented in two exhibitions. The exhibition CONFLICT, which is shown in the newly built visitor center, investigates causes and consequences of warlike conflicts in the Germanic world. This exhibition is part of Germany's biggest archaeological exhibition project in this context called »IMPERIUM CONFLICT MYTH. 2,000 Years Varus Battle«. It was organized in collaboration with museums in Haltern and Detmold.
Also on May 15, the completely restructured permanent exhibition will reopen its doors in Kalkriese. In the future, this exhibition, which was designed and realized by Varusschlacht GmbH and Cologne-based architects hollenbeck.plato, will focus on discovering and explaining the battle and its consequences
