.Laying of the Foundation Stone in July 2008

In spring 2008, construction work for the new visitor center began. The new center will cover an area of about 860 m² close to the current entrance area of Museum und Park Kalkriese next to the existing farmhouse complex where admission desk, museum shop and cafeteria are currently located.
The construction is planned and supervised exclusively by Suisse architects Annette Gigon / Mike Guyer, who also designed the museum, in collaboration with Osnabrück planning office pbr Rohling. Kassel-based company Hermanns is the general building contractor for this project. The new visitor center will consist of more than ten thousand cubic meters of reinforced concrete.
