The (reconstructed) sword scabbard made of organic material has decomposed in the ground, but the silver fittings and the holder for the sword straps were preserved. Cut stones are used as decoration: An intaglio shows Victoria, the Roman goddess of victory. This surely belonged to a higher ranking officer.
